TURKMENISTAN-RUSSIA: A NEW LEVEL OF INTER-PARLIAMENTARY RELATIONS

At the main entrance, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the leaders of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Opening the plenary session, the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia noted that a delegation of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan headed by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was on an official visit to the Federation Council.

On November 3, as part of an ongoing official visit to the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh conveyed the warmest greetings and health wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the leader of the friendly country.
Within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, a number of meetings were held. In particular, the state and prospects of cooperation were put on the agenda of the meeting at the level of deputy heads of the upper chambers of the parliaments of the two countries K. Babaev and K. Kosachev. The discussion was also attended by the heads of the committees of the Halk Maslakhaty and the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh.
Also in Moscow, a "round table" was held on the topic "Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia: direction and priorities."
During the meeting of the Head of the Group of National Equestrian Games “Galkynyş” of the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan with the General Director of the Great Moscow State Circus held within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, an interested exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation in the field of circus art.
The official visit of Arkadag, along with the identification of new areas of strategic cooperation between the two countries, opens a new page in the history of the development of relations and is important for expanding inter-parliamentary ties.
At the end of the program of the official visit, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan left for homeland.
