WORKING VISIT OF THE GOVERNMENTAL DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN TO THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
On September 7-8 this year, a working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev to Tashkent took place.
Within the framework of the visit a meeting in a narrow format was held between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev and the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev, who are co-chairs of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation.
An expanded meeting was also held with the participation of the heads of ministries and state agenсies of the two countries.
During the meetings the progressive development of bilateral relations, which gained new momentum after the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan in July this year was noted.
Furthermore the prospects for the implementation of the Program of trade and economic cooperation and development of industrial cooperation for 2022-2025 between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were discussed.
The parties also considered the possibility of holding the next 17th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation until the end of 2022.
The increase in joint projects in the agricultural, construction, textile and pharmaceutical industries has become a meaningful part of the discussion of further strengthening investment cooperation between the two countries. In addition, interest was expressed in the joint production of cars, agricultural machinery and household appliances in Turkmenistan.
Common ground was also found in expanding transport and logistics links, including stimulating the transit of goods across the territory of the two states, as well as organizing pilot transportation along international transport corridors using the capabilities of seaports.
