DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN IS ATTENDING TRANSFORMING EDUCATION SUMMIT IN NEW YORK
Between 16 and 19 September 2022, the delegation of Turkmenistan is in New York, the United States to participate in the Transforming Education Summit convened by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
The event gathered the UN Member States, UN agencies and a wide range of international organizations and agencies, academics and professionals, civil society organizations, networks, foundations, alliances, and the private sector.
The summit is focused on achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal on education, as well as on issues related to the provision of quality education and lifelong learning. In addition to discussing ways to improve education around the world, the Forum will also focus on overcoming the challenges caused by the pandemic.
In this context, it should be emphasized that the goals of the Summit coincide with the policy pursued by Turkmenistan in the field of education.
It should be noted that purposeful work has been carried out by the government of Turkmenistan in this direction. From June 21 to August 8 this year, six national consultations were held with the participation of a wide range of ministries and state agencies of Turkmenistan.
In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Education took part in the preliminary summit on the transformation of education, which was held in Paris from June 28 to 30, 2022.
As a result of the above-mentioned national consultations, a Consultation Report, as well as a National Statement of Commitment to Education Transformation was prepared. These documents were accordingly sent to the Secretariat of the Education Transformation Summit.
Representative of Turkmenistan will attend a series of sessions, as well as the closing session of the plenary on the subject of the digital transformation of education.
