MEETING OF THE CHAIRMEN OF THE TURKMEN-JAPAN AND JAPAN-TURKMEN COMMITTEES ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION
On October 18, 2022, the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation Rashid Meredov with the Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation, Managing Executive Officer of “ITOCHU Corporation” Hiroyuki Tsubai was held via videoconference.
During the meeting, the parties noted that contacts at the highest and high levels play an important role in the development of interstate relations. In this regard, the significance of the visit and substantive meetings of the Turkmen delegation led by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in September this year in Japan was highlighted.
In this direction, the parties discussed specific proposals and innovative projects put forward by esteemed Arkadag within the framework of the meetings held in Tokyo, aimed at further expanding trade and economic cooperation with Japan.
In continuation of the negotiations, the Chairmen of the Committees considered the issues of updating the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of infrastructure, saturating it with innovative ideas and relevant projects.
Noting the strategic, sustainable and long-term nature of the economic partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan, the parties agreed that an important mechanism for this interaction is the active work of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen committees for economic cooperation.
In this context, issues of preparation for the 14th meeting of this committee at the end of this year were discussed, as well as its agenda and documents planned for signing during this upcoming session.
