DAYS OF KOREAN CULTURE STARTED IN TURKMENISTAN
With the opening of the Korean Film Festival on November 9, 2022, the Days of Korean Culture, held to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries, celebrated this year, started in Turkmenistan.
Speaking at the solemn ceremony on the occasion of a significant event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Sungchul Shin emphasized the importance of this large-scale cultural event, designed to strengthen trust and mutual understanding between our peoples.
It is noteworthy that already on the first day of the Korean Film Festival, a full hall of spectators gathered, including students of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi, who study the Korean language, as well as numerous residents and guests of the Turkmen capital, who wished to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of everyday life of the inhabitants of the Lands of morning freshness.
Also, within the framework of the Days of Korean Culture, on November 11, the National Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli will host a presentation and tasting of popular dishes of national Korean cuisine, a show of the traditional costume - hanbok, and then a joint concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan and the Korean quartet "Gugak", whose musicians specialize in fusion-direction, combining several musical styles at once.
The Days of Korean Culture, which included acquaintance with modern music and cinema of the friendly people, their richest traditions and customs, once again confirmed the existing interest in studying each other's cultural heritage, as well as the importance of expanding humanitarian contacts to further strengthen interstate relations.
