THE TURKMEN-EMIRATES TOP-LEVEL TALKS HAD BEEN HELD IN ABU DHABI

On March 15, 2018, talks were held in Abu Dhabi between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Crown Prince Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In the morning, the Turkmen leader went to the Presidential Palace of the United Arab Emirates. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

After exchanging friendly greetings, the Turkmen leader and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi passed to a specially installed podium. The commander of the Honor Guard solemnly reported. The National anthem of Turkmenistan sounded. At the end of the ceremony, the President of Turkmenistan and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi entered the Palace and headed to the venue for bilateral talks. Before the beginning of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Crown Prince Abu Dhabi got acquainted with the members of the official delegations of the two countries.

Then, in the Great Conference Hall, the Turkmen-Emirati high-level talks were held in an expanded format. Once again welcoming the high Turkmen guest, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the visit of the President of Turkmenistan in his country is attached importance in the context of further strengthening of bilateral relations.

Expressing sincere gratitude to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi for the invitation to visit the United Arab Emirates on an official visit and warm welcome and hospitality, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the Turkmen side regards this summit as the most important event in the history of traditionally friendly interstate relations.

At the end of the extended meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi proceeded to the Small Conference Hall, where their negotiations were held in a narrow format.

The issues on the agenda of the current visit of the governmental delegation of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates, as well as ways to implement the bilateral agreements reached to bring the Turkmen-Emirate cooperation to a higher level, enrich it with new content.

Summing up the results of the talks, the sides noted with satisfaction their productive character, once again confirming the constant intention of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates to strengthen and increase full-scale cooperation on a long-term basis along its entire spectrum.

At the end of the meeting, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held in the presence of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The following documents have been signed: the Agreement on counteracting against terrorism, organized crime, illegal trade in narcotic and psychotropic substances and their precursors as well as other crimes; the Agreement on mutual support in criminal cases; the Agreement on cancellation of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports; the Agreement on cooperation in cultural sphere; Agreement between the State Concern Turkmengaz and United Arab Emirates Mubadala Petroleum Company; The Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and Abu Dhabi Development Fund.

In the second half of the day, the President of Turkmenistan visited the new cultural landmark of the Emirate capital - the Louvre Museum of Abu Dhabi, which was opened in November 2017. It is located on the island of Saadiyat and is the first museum outside of France, called the Louvre.

The motorcade of the President of Turkmenistan approached the central entrance of the Louvre of Abu Dhabi, where the high guest was met by the museum director Manuel Rabate and his deputy Hissa Al Dhaheri. Having greeted the Turkmen leader and invited him to enter the building, Mr. Rabate briefly told about the history of the museum, its organization and exposition, the main idea of ​​which is to present the history of mankind, different epochs, cultures and civilizations in works of art.

In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan warmly bid farewell to the museum's leadership and proceeded to the Memorial Complex "Wahat Al Karama", erected in honor of the national heroes of the UAE who fell for their homeland.

Upon the arrival of the Turkmen leader, the head of the complex, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Takhnun, cordially greeted the high guest about this memorial. "Vahat Al Karama" (translated from Arabic as "Oasis of Dignity") is a symbol of the courage and solidarity of the nation that perpetuates the memory of soldiers who gave their lives for a single state.

Following through the order of the soldiers of the Honor Guard, the President of Turkmenistan in solemn atmosphere lays a wreath at the foot of the monument, paying tribute to the memory of national heroes of the United Arab Emirates.

In memory of the visit to the Memorial complex, the Turkmen leader signed the Book of Honored Guests. Saying goodbye to the representatives of the friendly country, the head of Turkmenistan went to the International airport of the capital of the UAE.

After completing his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left home from the air harbor of Abu Dhabi.
