DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN HELD TALKS WITH THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE INTRA-AFGHAN PEACEFUL DIALOGUE

On November 2, 2020, the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs held talks with the participants of the Intra-Afghan peaceful dialogue in the capital of Qatar, Doha.

In particular, during the meeting with the representatives of the “Taliban” movement who are part of the delegation at negotiations, the Turkmen side has noted that Turkmenistan supports the Intra-Afghan negotiations on the reestablishment of peace in Afghanistan, and expresses confidence in the effectiveness of diplomatic and political instruments, as well as stands ready to render assistance to the negotiation process in the framework of previously declared initiatives.

At the same time, the Turkmen side actively cooperates with the regional and international structures for the promotion of peace, stability and socio-economic growth in Afghanistan.

Being aware of the importance of such sectors of economy as energy, transport and communications for the overall development of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan actively works on the promotion of a number of large-scale international infrastructural projects, implemented presently in participation of two neighboring countries and the states of South Asia. At firsthand, it concerns the construction of the gas pipeline TAPI, power and fiber-optic communication lines on Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route, building of the railway lines from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

The parties expressed hope for the advancement of friendly dialogue aimed at the provision of well-being of Afghanistan and its people.

The meeting was held in constructive and professional atmosphere.
