An international scientific and practical symposium on the topic “Multifaceted Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan: Achievements and Prospects” was held in Baku

On June 18, 2025, an international scientific and practical symposium “Multifaceted Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan: Achievements and Prospects” was held.  It was jointly organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Center for Analysis of International Relations of Azerbaijan, on the occasion of “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

The symposium was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan S.Sharifov, Head of the Center for Analysis of International Relations F.Shafiyev, Head of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan Sh.Shiriyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan G.Elyasov, Head of the Azerbaijani side of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group and deputy of the Milli Majlis T.Rustamkhanly, as well as local deputies, experts and journalists.

The speakers emphasized the role of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality in strengthening peace, regional and global security, stability in international relations in the current complex geopolitical situation in the world, as well as noted how Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality serves as an effective tool for conducting international diplomacy.
